MUTT’S HAPPENING: Muttropolis Celebrates Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

Adopt a Dog

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and we are very excited to celebrate! For the entire month of October we’ll be hosting adoptions, giving away food, raising money and pampering all newly adopted pets with a special offer!

Anyone who adopts a pet in October and brings in proof of their adoption (like a certificate or receipt) can receive 20% off their entire purchase, excluding food and gift cards. This promotion expires October 31 and is valid once per customer. Come in and spoil that new member of the family.

If you adopt during one of our many adoptions at our stores this month, you will receive a free 4 lb bag of Open Farm Dog food. This delicious, healthy, food is ethically raised and sourced right in Canada. It’s been Mutt-tested and approved!

While you are there, buy a “Paw” to support the San Diego Humane Society. You can buy “Paws” at our Solana Beach or La Jolla locations for the entire month of October. 100% of Paw proceeds go to SDHS.

If you’re interested in adopting a new four-legged family member, now is the time. Adoption dates are as follows: Saturday, 10/10, 10AM-4PM: Lucky Pup Dog Rescue Adoption at Muttropolis La Jolla; Saturday, 10/10, 11AM-2PM: Barks of Love Rescue Adoption at Muttropolis Fashion Island; Saturday, 10/17, 11AM-3PM: Paw Prints in the Sand Adoption at Muttropolis Fashion Island; Sunday, 10/18, 11AM-1PM: Doxie Rescue of Los Angeles Adoption at Muttropolis La Jolla; Saturday, 10/24, 11AM-2PM: Rancho Coastal Humane Society Adoption at Muttropolis Solana Beach.

We’re Thankful for Our Furry Friends

Dogs Are Family

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our customers, two-legged and four-legged! To those adorning pet parents – thank you for choosing Muttropolis to help keep your pets healthy, safe, stylish and spoiled! And to all those furry customers – thank you for bringing us joy! You are why we love doing what we do, and for that we are very thankful.

In the spirit of giving thanks, we thought it was only fitting to take a moment to remember some of the many reasons why we’re thankful for our furry friends.

Pets…

…love unconditionally.

…are part of the family.

…brighten up each day.

…are easy to please.

…enjoy the simple things.

…teach responsibility.

…keep us active.

…are great snuggle buddies.

…put things in perspective.

…live in the moment.

We are all fortunate for the pets in our lives, but there are many furry friends that don’t have a home, and we’re thankful for them too. In an effort to help those dogs and cats find a family and forever home, we hold monthly adoptions at each of our stores. So if you live in Southern California and are looking to add to your furry family, or know someone who is, we would love to see you at one of our upcoming adoption events. You may meet a new furry friend to make family! And if you aren’t in the area but are looking for a new pet, we urge you to adopt and save a life.

Join us in giving thanks, for the love and lessons that our pets provide, and if you are feeling like spoiling your furry friend, now is the time. Save 25% storewide through Monday December 2nd. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

This Friday, June 21st, is Take Your Dog To Work Day!

Did you
know there is a Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay)?
Or better yet, an entire week? June 17th-21st has been
designated Take Your Pet To Work Week, with
Friday the 21st chosen as the special day. What a great occasion don’t you think? Not only does it get your
four-legged friend out of the house for the day, it also promotes pet adoption!

Dogs Meeting

So how does
it work? We’re urging all pet lovers to celebrate the human-canine bond by
encouraging their employers to support Take
Your Dog To Work Day
. Let your employer know that supporting and partaking
in this day promotes pet adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and
breed rescues. This occasion dates back to 1999 when it was created by Pet Sitters International (PSI) to
celebrate what great companions dogs make.

PSI put together
a handy list of tips to ensure that you and your pup are prepared for the big
day! Below is an overview, but to see each tip explained in more detail click here.

Good Planning + Good Dog = A Good Day

1. Do an office check

2. Puppy-proof your work space

3. Bathe and groom your dog before its
office debut

4. Prepare a doggie bag

5. Plan your pet’s feeding times
carefully

6. Avoid forcing co-workers to interact
with your dog

7. Have an exit strategy

Pet Sitters
International (PSI) asks that those businesses and employees who participate focus
on the fun and celebrate the value of pets in the workplace, all while emphasizing
and educating about the importance of adoption. PSI also requests that their
permission be granted before using TYDTWDay
events to advertise or promote specific products or services. Their licensing
and sponsorship opportunities can be found here.
